Get Thick Eyebrows

How to get thick eyebrows ? (Step by Step)

Whenever I’m creating a look as a makeup artist wether it is for a photoshoot, a runway show or a particular client, eyebrows always play a huge role.

They carry the highest value of the face, help open up and frame the entire eye area and work to improve the face’s overall symmetry. They can create a big impact if they have the right shape and are groomed correctly.

As everything that is happening so fast with the impact of social media, it feels like everyone at the same time is trying to slow down and with this I mean, we are all trying to go back to basics in a way.

You must be questioning what does this have to do with the eyebrow trend ? Well, apparently we are all tired of seeing the overly sculpted and contoured brow so if you think about it, the real trend is to go back to basics, letting your brow grow naturally and opt for a much more “down to earth-realness”

Why thick Eyebrows ?

What does it mean to have thick eyebrows and why has it become such a trend?

Good eyebrows are 100% attractive, they can define your personality and of course, your look. The reason we are obsessed with thick / full eyebrows is because it brings back a much more youthful and fresh look to any face plus the fact that we don’t have to put hours into creating something that seems totally fake.

How to get thicker eyebrows within a week

Lets be realistic, good changes take time so you have to be patient and consistent. Getting thicker brows could take time and as much as we would love to have our hair grow as fast as one week, experts say it could take anywhere from 14 days up to 8 weeks to see a significant change when using natural ingredients.

Giving your eyebrows a rest from makeup products, harsh soaps, letting them be (stop over plucking) and adding some home remedies to your daily routine would be the first steps towards thickening your brows.

If you are looking to get thicker brows as soon as possible and you are not afraid of needles, then your best option would be doing Microblading. This is a semi-permanent tattoo technique using super thin strokes to replicate your natural brow hair creating the illusion of a fuller eyebrow. It is less invasive than a regular tattoo and depending on your skin type, it can last you from 1 up to 3 years.

When choosing microblading, making your research about the professional you are selecting to do this service is key to make sure you don’t get any infections or wrong applications. Ones you pick your spot, you can determine how light or bold you would like to go with the advice of the professional.

How do you stimulate eyebrow growth ?

When you are on a mission of growing out your hair, there are other things you can consider to boost the process.

Your diet and the type of nutrients you are having on a daily basis could make a huge difference. There are some supplements that can stimulate eyebrow growth and also help strengthen your lashes, nails and improve your skin as well.

Collagen, Biotin and Multi-Vitamins such as vitamin A, C and E are great options to add on your diet. I personally take collagen everyday and Im obsessed with how my skin looks and how my hair is improving its texture and length.

How to trim and shape thick eyebrows

Having thick brows also comes with a little bit of work thought. The importance of grooming and taking care of your eyebrows plays a big role the same way as taking care of your own skin and rest of your hair.

This is key to achieve the perfect brow and as anything in life, we must do extra work to get what we want, the same applies for eyebrows. Adding some basic steps to your skincare routine will give you in return eyebrows on point wether you are blessed with natural thick brows or are on the process to getting them.

Knowing these, you might consider some of the tips and information Im about to give you.

Thick eyebrows on men

Eyebrows on men are as important and decisive as for any woman but because (lucky them) men get to have fuller and thicker brows, these tend to be a strong focal point and the first thing people notice which could be a good thing or deal breaker if they are not groomed appropriately.

Brush your eyebrows :

this will allow you to see what hairs might need to be removed or trimmed to achieve a flattering and open appearance to the eyes.

Tip: Using a brow brush or disposable wand, brush the hairs of the eyebrow in an upward motion, starting at the inner brow line. Work toward the arch in short concise strokes changing the angle of the brush ones the arch peak has been reached. From the arch pick, work toward the outer brow line, brushing up and out to the outer brow line. Using the classic eyebrow shape as a guide (check link at the end of this article), determine which hairs need to be removed or trimmed to achieve this shape.

Use tweezers and eyebrow scissors

If you want to remove any extra hair at home, is better if you use tweezers and eyebrow scissors instead of waxing.
Tip: Brush your eyebrows upward toward your forehead, then using your scissors trim any hair that exceed the top line of your brows. Make sure you don’t go too close to the “base” of the brows and over trim. This is just going to help maintain a good shape and avoid messy hair. Use the tweezers to remove any undesired extra hairs around the edges and in between your nose aka “unibrow zone”.

Do not wax

Tip: If you have really messy and heavy brows. Trimming might not be enough for you. Use an eyebrow trimmer instead of waxing or shaving. This will help you get a much more uniform shape.

Visit a professional

Tip: If you aren’t sure on how to take care of your brows and you struggle with bushy brows, visiting your professional groomer is the number one option. Good groomers will know how to make your brows look on point and you can schedule your appointment every time you visit for a haircut.

Girls with thick eyebrows

Even though a statement brow is trendy and cool, it is important that you take care of the shape and keep them well groomed.

If you are one of the lucky girls with amazing and full eyebrows, you should know some tips that you could add up to your beauty routine that won’t take too much of your time but will significantly help you maintain your brows on point.

Brush your eyebrows

This will allow you to see what hairs might need to be removed or trimmed to achieve a flattering and open appearance to the eye.

Use tweezers and brow scissors

Use tweezers and brow scissors to remove unwanted hairs around the edge of your brows.

Visit a professional

Consider going to a professional waxing salon.

How to fill in thick eyebrows:

Having thick eyebrows doesn’t mean you would never have to fill some gaps, but it is important you don’t over do it otherwise you could affect the frame of your eyes and change your look completely.

Keep your eyebrows in place

How to: Use a brow sculpting gel or a clear mascara from any drugstore to keep the hair in place during the day. Make sure you remove the product before going to sleep to avoid clogged pores in that area.

Fill in the gaps using an eyebrow brush and powder

How to:  Following the growth pattern of the eyebrow: start at the inner brow continue to the arch, then down to the outer brow.

Do thick eyebrows suit everyone

Thankfully, we are currently living in a time where self expression and uniqueness are celebrated and, because I really believe that there are no rules in what self expression (in this case through beauty) means to you, I find it important to mention that even though the trend now is towards a fuller and thicker brow (which I personally love) the most important thing is to keep in mind that the final goal is that you feel confident with your own self regardless of any trend out there.

I have some examples for you, check this article about bad celebrity eyebrows gone wrong : here

However, it is important that you get to know the classic and most important areas of the eyebrow and understand what is the best eyebrow shape for you depending on your face type.

3 basic steps to create the classic eyebrow shape :

Note: This is a guideline. It does not mean that every person should or will have this eyebrow shape.

STEP 1 — Inner Brow Line

To determine where brows should begin, place the tweezers or any pencil alongside the outer edge of the bottom of the nose, pointing straight up toward the forehead. This marks the starting point of the brow (about an inch above the inner corner of the eyes or tear duct)

STEP 2 — Center Line (Arch)

The arch should rise just above the outer rim of the eye and land right on the brow bone.

STEP 3 — Outer Brow Line (Tail of the brow)

The outer brow line is determined by the distance from the inner brow line to the center line, which is approximately an equal distance from the arch to the outer brow line. Place the pencil up towards the outside corner of the eye, making sure the pencil extends past the brow. The brow should end where the pencil falls also known as tail of the brow.
